Up to 400 “Runners” are expected to take part in this mad-cap race where two large inflatable balls are carried by competitors over the pebble beach and rocky groynes (look out for those groins) in aid of Prostate, Penile and Testicular cancer research and care.
Event organiser Dave Samuel says “Big Balls is about blokes-bits and their continued preservation!”
Each competitor must finish with their own personally numbered balls in their arms so organised chaos is expected as friends and foes boost each other’s balls sending them beach & seaward!
This short 3k jaunt is somewhat complicated by each beach containing ridiculous obstacles such as the Comedy Ninja’s with boxing gloves on 8’ long poles, the water balloon bomb alley and the egg but no spoon dash.
Brighton Big Balls is fast becoming a favourite spectators sport due to the multitude of merriment to be had by the crowds of supporters and fans who now line the route.
The route starts and finishes at Fat Boy Slims Big Beach Café on Hove Lagoon and heads to the King Alfred and back- with a lunch time party organised by the Big Beach Café for all runners and their supporters!
